Brainwaves:
Your brain is made out of billions of cells called neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by firing electrical or/and hormonal signals. For performing different tasks different parts of your brain become activated and a cluster of neurons start communicating with each other by firing electrical pulses in a synchronized fashion to perform a certain task such as moving your hand, recalling a memory, and such. For performing complicated tasks or when you need to be quick and sharp, the frequency of these signals goes up to the high frequency (high beta range up to 30Hz) while in deepest sleep it can go down to 0.5 Hz (low delta waves). The frequency of these signals can be detected by putting sensors on the scalp using an EEG machine.
The brain does not operate in just one single frequency and the full spectrum of brainwave frequencies are running, all the time, while the loudest or the most dominant frequency can determine our mood or mental state.

Brainwave Entrainment:
Brainwave entrainment uses the sensory inputs of your brain such as your eyes and ears to stimulate the brain, in order to shift your mental state by boosting one frequency to be louder than the others. Brainwave entrainment mimics the natural electrical pulses in the brain, and by using synchronized pulses of light and sound in order to stimulate the brain to align itself to a certain frequency.
The brain tends to tune itself to the rhythm of what it hears or sees, like when you dance to the beats of music or when you feel relaxed and at peace by simply staring at the flickering light of a campfire or a candle.
Although Brainwave Entrainment (BWE) might sound like quite a new hype in our time, similar methods have been practiced since ancient times for altering the consciousness level. Shamans use drums and rattle to tune into lower frequencies and access their subconsciousness. The Greeks used flickering sunlight shining through a spinning wheel to induce altered states of consciousness. In the middle east Sufis still practice a dance-like body movement (Sufi whirling) to fall into a trance.

Light Machine:
Modern brainwave entrainment became popular around the 1970s by introducing commercial Audio/visual stimulation (AVS) machines in the market.
There are two types of AVS machines on the market:
- Mind machines (such as Kasina, Laxman, David Delight, and Dream Weaver) use goggles with low-power stroboscopic LEDs, a pair of headphones, and a media player.
- Light machines ( such as Enkidu Light, Lucia, PandoraStar, and Ajna Light) have higher brightness and consist of high-power stroboscopic LEDs installed in a box shape lamp which usually sits on a tripod.
Although there are many applications for light machines, such as for cognition, one of the most common usages (due to the stronger stroboscopic effect), is to cause Hypnagogia which naturally happens to you right before or after sleep. During this “threshold consciousness” phase, between your conscience and sub-conscience mind (alpha waves), some people experience lucid thoughts, lucid dreaming, or hallucinations which are very similar to the effect of some hallucinogenic drugs like DMT and psilocybin mushrooms (theta waves).
A light machine can induce and expand this phase shifting in the state of mind (which is temporary and safe), and allow the user to experience altered states of consciousness, without any side effects.

Information immediately comes easily to the alert individual and removes barriers allowing each new bit to be put immediately in perspective. Since life began, the Earth has been surrounding and protecting all living things with a natural frequency pulsation of 7.83 HZ—the ancient Indian Rishis called OM. “Schumann Resonance” refers to the frequency of the electromagnetic field of the Earth. Whether by coincidence or not, it also happens to be a very powerful frequency to use with brainwave entrainment. The discovery, from 1954, has spurred much research. We incorporated subtle Isochronic tones and light signals in the music at such frequency.
This frequency has been associated with high levels of hypnotizability, meditation, increased HGH levels, and cerebral blood flow levels seem to be much higher while this frequency is being stimulated.

Meditation begins when you shift your awareness from the outside world to your inner self. While we are aware and our brain is processing the information coming from our sensory inputs there’s high beta brainwave activity in the brain.
Since ancient times we were challenged by taking control of our brains and mood. As if the monkey mind needed a leash, we’ve been challenged to find a switch to turn off the impulses, fears, and negative thoughts, and instead find a peaceful and serene mind.
